Before, during and after your Session with Andrea from your very first conversation with us might we will ask you to start thinking about your portrait session with the end in mind. Meaning we want you to start by thinking about what your goal is for your portraits. We believe very passionately that the best place for your portraits is beautifully printed on the highest quality materials for you to display in your home and enjoy every day. So, with that in mind, what are your hopes and dreams for your session?
What is it about your children that you would like to remember in 20 years? And how do you want to remember it? Is it in an album that can be handed down from generation to generation? Or a wall portrait that will make you smile when you pass by it every day? Or maybe it is a collection of images arranged in a wall gallery that highlights your growing family year after year? Whichever way you choose to display your images, we begin with the end in mind.
Before we shoot any images, we create a plan for how they will be displayed in your home. Creating a plan and shooting for that plan results in a session that makes magic and is the recipe for a successful portrait process every single time. So let's show you how our Portrait Process works...
The first step is for us to get to know each other. We ask you about your goals for the session, how you plan to display your images, your home decor, personal style and any tidbits of info you can give us about your family.
We want to know all about your personality, likes/dislikes, funny things your kids or spouse do, and what makes your family tick. This helps us to plan the session, find out what is important to you, go over details of the session, like what to wear and which personal items you wish to include will be best for your family. This part of the process is the prework that enables the session to go well and helps us create the perfect images for you.
The sessions take place at my home studio in Baildon. I work with controlled studio lighting and temperature and a wonderful selection of custom props and set designs. The studio offers a calm and relaxed environment where we create a look that is timeless and sophisticated.
Family sessions can be captured on location or in our studio. On location, sessions offer an environment that is comfortable and familiar to families which often lead to comfortable and natural expressions.
Sessions are a natural, relaxed and fun experience! You will be surprised at how quickly the time will go and how easily I will guide you into the natural posing that families do. I will provide gentle prompts and direction to foster genuine emotion and interaction between family members. I will have you all dancing, jumping, hugging, tickling and telling secrets - it will be easy, natural and fun.
This is the best part! The Viewing & Ordering Appointment is the time when you get to see all the fruits of the pre-session consultation and your session planning pay off. Your images are projected and I will help you design the perfect portrait art for your home. I will help you sort through the images and make final decisions on what will look best with your home decor and with your portrait goals.
Seeing your images come to life in print is the most rewarding part of the entire process and I truly love to create beautiful artwork for my client's homes. Portrait Delivery About 3-4 weeks later, your art piece will be ready for pick up. We’ll call or email you to let you know it’s here and make arrangements for you to take home your portraits.
